“Submission”
I thank You for all that You’ve done today
As I anticipate the blessings of tomorrow.
What Joy and what Hope lie in the future
That You have planned out for me!
With great Care have my days been made
And with equal Love let me take each one.
To have a freedom such as mine
Is a privilege to say the least.
I admit to taking it all for granted
And to keeping it all to myself.
I humbly ask for Your forgiveness
Though I am even unworthy of that.
I have silenced my own tongue
When it comes to the subject of You.
Inside, I can’t seem to say enough
And I know it’s Your Spirit working there.
I pray for such Release
Of these words within my heart.
My only tools as of now
Are simple pen and paper.
Somehow they are instrumental
Accompanying the innate gift in me.
This page may someday be graced
By the touch of scarred hands.
To be held on either side
Is all a poem can ask for.
But to be Understood by the Writer
Is all the Sinner may need.
